AGE: 92 LEONARDO
Alton Duncan age 92, of Leonardo died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Nebraska he lived in South Dakota and later settled in the Middletown Area where he lived for the past 67 years. He was retired from the US Coast Guard Civil Service in 1980 as an electronic technician Stationed in Manasquan NJ. He was a WWII Veteran who served honorably in the Coast Guard. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Atlantic Highlands. He was also a Life member and past commander of the American Legion Post 338 in Leonardo. He was a member and treasurer of the Leonardo Democratic Club, a member of the Bayshore Senior Travel Club and a member of the Murphy Club. He was the Grand Marshall of the 1997 Memorial Day Parade for Middletown he was chosen in recognition of his outstanding service to his country community and legion. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a kind, wise and gentle man who was known to all. He will always be remembered for all of his wonderful stories and his ability to remember them so well.
He is survived by His Loving wife Evelyn of 62 years, Leonardo, His daughter and Son in law, Janice and Joseph Santora Leonardo, Grandson and His wife, Joseph and Stella, Grandson Anthony Santora, Granddaughter and her husband, Jaime and Michael Kopec.
A Funeral Service, 10:00 AM Saturday at John P. Condon Funeral Home LLC, 804 St. Hwy. #36, Leonardo. Family and Friends Should Gather at the Funeral Home at 9:30 am Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Middletown. The family will receive their friends 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at John P.
