Adele E. Cambeis
AGE: 93 Lincroft
Adele E. Cambeis, 93, of Lincroft, died peacefully Saturday, April 23, 2011, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and lived there before moving to Middletown in 1950. Adele's life was spent caring for her large family and volunteering for the ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens) of Monmouth County, where she was just recently awarded the "Volunteer of the Year Award" for her 40 years of dedicated service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and matriarch of her family. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her four sons, George Cambeis, Walter Cambeis, Richard and his wife Jeanne Cambeis, and her most beloved, Craig Cambeis; three daughters, Joan and her husband Fred Binn, Joyce Costa, and Adele and her husband James Barlow; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Adele was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cambeis; and her brother, Walter Rainkie.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 27 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 28 at Christ Church, 380 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Cemetery, North Brunswick.
