Alice Maire
AGE: 93 Lincroft
Alice Maire, 93, of Lincroft, a 56-year resident of Middletown, died peacefully Friday, April 22, 2011, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Lincroft. Alice was born in Neptune and was raised in Bradley Beach, where she was active in the Methodist Church. She then spent over 56 years in Middletown, where she raised her family. She retired from Monmouth County Board of Social Services at age 65 after 20 years of dedicated service. She is a past member of the Fairview First Aid Squad, liked to knit, bird watch and visiting the beach. Alice traveled extensively throughout her life especially with her sister, Marian. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Red Bank. But most of all enjoyed her family.
Alice is predeceased by her parents, Fred G. and Ida Gant Brown; her husband, Paul J. Maire, in 1975; her brother, Fred G. II; and sisters, Almeda Smith and Marian Moratis. She is survived by sons, Joseph F. and wife Maryann of Haymarket, Va., David and wife Sally of Raleigh, N.C., Paul and wife Lee Ann of Haymarket, Va., and James of Phoenix, Ariz.; her daughters, Susan Inghilleri and husband Tony of Middletown, and Cynthia Wittliff and husband Ted of Richardson, TX; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 25 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. Funeral Services will be held 10AM Tuesday, April 26, at the funeral home. Interment in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Please visit the Alice Maire memorial website available at www.sidun.com.
