Robert Albert Forlenza, 71, of The Villages, Howell Township died peacefully at home on Thursday, March 17, 2005. He worked in and was a respected expert in the Land Title Insurance industry for 42 years. He previously owned Freehold Search Co., Inc., and Certified Realty Abstract, Inc., and was part owner of Abstractus, Inc., Freehold. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea. He was a member of the Olive Branch Lodge No. 16, F. & A. M. Freehold, Valley of Trenton Consistory, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Crescent Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., Trenton, an Elder of First Presbyterian Church, Freehold, a Scout Master of Troop 47, Boy Scouts of America, Leonardo from 1965 to 1970, a member of Freehold Township Rent Leveling Control Board 1974 to 1975, and a former member of the Western Monmouth Exchange Club, an active member and past Treasurer of Gideons, Freehold Camp, active in Habitat for Humanity, and was President of Open Door, all of Freehold. He was an affiliate member of the American Land Title Association, Charter President and a member of the Monmouth County Title Searchers Guild, a member and Past President of the Title Abstractors of N.J., and participated in Legislative hearings prior to passage of the New Jersey Title Insurance Act of 1975 and supplemental legislation. He promoted and administered courses in Title Abstraction I and II, and Title Examining for Title Insurance Purposes while President of the Monmouth County Title Searchers Guild in 1972. He served as President of T.A.A.N.J in 1974 and 1975, and as Vice President of the Association of Title Insurance Agents in 1977. In recent years he was employed by Twenty First Century Title, Inc., Madison Title Company, and Progressive Title in Freehold. He played trombone most of his life and had his own Combo, and was a past member of the Nocturns Dance Band. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Suzanne Forlenza. Surviving are his loving wife Janet; three children, Robert W. Forlenza, William Forlenza, daughter-in-law Diane, and daughter, Patricia Miller, son-in-law Edwin Miller, his brother, Leonard; six grand children, William, Kimberly, Darcy, Christopher, Sara and Lori; a great grandchild, Eli; and several nieces and nephews. He was much loved by his wife and family and will be missed by those whose lives he touched. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Saturday, March 19, 2005 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 P.M.
